Gemma Hayes returns with ‘Let It Break’, released October 15th

Mercury nominated singer-songwriter Gemma Hayes’ fourth studio album ‘Let It Break’ will be
released on 15th October. Recorded in rural France and Dublin with her long-time producer David
Odlum (The Frames, dEUS, Josh Ritter) ‘Let It Break’ is a stunning dreamscape of acoustic reverie,
electronic melancholy and tinkling indie-folk intricacy.

After a decade making music, Hayes is still firmly focused on making beautiful, melancholic music,
refusing to be swept up in the trends of other female singer-songwriters. Instead, she finds herself
more at home amongst other goose bump-inducing groups such as Bon Iver and Sigur Ros.

‘Let It Break’ is a blend of euphoric electro-folk on tracks such as ‘Sorrow Be Gone’ and bittersweet
acoustic tales like ‘Waiting for You’, allowing the listener to escape to a comforting cocoon of indie-
folk bliss.

‘Shock To My System’, the first single from ‘Let It Break’, is released 27th August.
