Acclaimed soundtrack composer Carly Paradis to release debut album ‘Hearts To Symphony’ on November 4th

Carly Paradis, bored of being a part-time teacher/part-time musician in her hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, decided to MySpace her favourite composer Clint Mansell (Requiem For A Dream, The Wrestler, The Black Swan) in the faint hope that he would give her some advice. Instead, he listened to her music and hired her. After joining him to perform live across the world as his pianist, she recorded piano on Mansell’s soundtrack to Duncan Jones’ BAFTA Award winning Moon. Also in the band was Chris Vrenna, a former Nine Inch Nail.

Now based in the UK, she gained work as lead composer on Line Of Duty (BBC), while also having her music placed in trailers for Angelina Jolie’s In The Land Of Blood And Honey, Ironman 3 and Martin Scorsese’s Hugo. But Carly’s debut album, Hearts To Symphony, sees her push the boundaries some. It’s a spectacularly ambitious, 100% independent ‘bedroom’ album with a cast of dozens, flitting from cinematic to scary, from heartfelt to head melt, and from catchy to crestfallen. And all made by an ultra-shy Canadian who thought, put simply, ”why not?

Hearts To Symphony is released on November 4th on download and 12″ vinyl LP.
