Rachael Yamagata announces new album, ‘Tightrope Walker’, shares video for lead single ‘Nothing’

Rachael Yamagata has announced details of her fourth LP, Tightrope Walker, which will be released via Frankenfish/Thirty Tigers on October 7Tightrope Walker follows 2011’s Chesapeake and documents a thematic shift for Rachel as she has become part-influenced by the highrise tightrope enthuasiast, Philippe Petit. Petit famously walked between the two World Trade Centres back in 1974 without ever giving any reason as to why he performed such an act – it was this that prompted the all important question of ‘why’ in Rachael’s mind. Tightrope Walker has allowed Rachel to expand with her writing skills, choosing to write in her house-cum-studio in the woods with members of Yo La Tengo and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion to name but some.
