Eivør shares the video for recent single, ‘Surrender’ and announces November UK tour

Eivør has aired the new video for ‘Surrender’, lifted from her much-praised new album – and UK commercial debut – Slør (out now). Filmed on the shores of Eivør’s native Faroe Islands, the video arrives amidst a current sold-out UK tour (including two London shows) – Eivør’s first run of headline dates in this country. A second run of UK dates through November is already on sale, including London’s Bush Hall on November 28, 2017 (full UK dates below).

The Faroese singer-songwriter’s recently released album Slør marks her UK debut. The album, which is over two years in the making, is actually an English-translated re-imagining of her Faroese-sung 2015 album release of the same title. Eivør originally wrote the Faroese version of ‘Slør’ – which translates as ‘veils’ or ‘blurriness’ – having returned to her childhood home in the remote Scandinavian archipelago of The Faroe Islands.

You can hear Eivør on the soundtrack she co-wrote for the series of the Netflix/BBC flagship show The Last Kingdom (airing now) with Ivor Novello nominee John Lunn. The TV reworking of Bernard Cornwell’s Saxon Stories acts as Eivør’s latest TV/film sync following her previous work on Scorsese’s Silence and the TV series Game of Thrones.
