Nils Wogram

Nils Wogram has long since been regarded as one of the most important jazz musicians in Europe, not just for his virtuosic trombone style but also for his unique compositions and flair as a bandleader (with the likes of not only Root 70, but also Nostaglia & Vertigo TB Quartet).

During an extremely prolific career (which began when Wogram learnt jazz & classical trombone aged 15) he has released an astonishing 21 albums as a bandleader, following intense periods of study between Cologne and New York. Wogram was this year’s recipient of Germany’s prestigious Albert-Mangelsdorff Prize, and received an incredible press response to his most recent UK release, Complete Soul, with both the Telegraph and BBC Music Magazine giving five star reviews‚ and The Guardian four stars for its very sophisticated contemporary music balance of composition and improv’.
